Houdini's Handcuffs

The tale goes that the great Houdini left these at the bar after escaping from them on a dare from the McSorley's owner. Still on display, these handcuffs are mysteriously etched with a serial number that dates them after Houdini's death. Certainly, that would be his greatest illusion—so far.

A Toast to the Champions

It was June of 1994 and the championship starved New York Rangers had not won the coveted Stanley Cup since 1940. The city had lost its patience, and the stage was set for another disappointment…..but the Rangers would not be denied that year, beating Vancouver to win hockey's grand prize. To celebrate, the team transported the cup from Madison Square Garden to McSorley's, where it was promptly filled with Ale. Thankfully it suffered only minor bruises during the festivities.
